1948 was
the year of Israel’s War of Independence and the Palestinian Nakba
(catastrophe).
Nuris was a
Palestinian village that got destroyed in 1948.
On a family
visit to Israel when going for a walk on my beloved Gilboa mountain I stumbled
across the remains of Nuris. There were
no signs or memorial for the Palestinian residents, only bits of walls
and straight angles reminiscent of human life.
