ima - 'The historian of promise'

Collection is a considered process, resembles a text where words are carefully selected to form sentences, paragraphs and meaning. Archive, on the other hand, is an accumulation, a natural phenomenon, a mindless process that undoes meaning.

The “historian of promise” will respond to homelessness, poverty, war, refugees, suffering, mourning and trauma. People are welcome to add to ima’s drawing.

ima (Invisible Mother-Artist) will re-enact “the historian of promise”. She will make drawings comprised of accumulated marks. At the end of each session the drawing will be collected – the materials that have been accumulated on the paper will be poured into a bowl.
